Order & Chaos : A tale of two elements

To reflect on a progressive and yet an aesthetic historic point of view : there are only two element that define the world, everything else is just a consequence of the two: order and chaos. Logic is human, the world is contingent, human Anthropomorphism is the only fictitious link between the two, the blind world is painted with human colors. Reality make sense only through the processing of the human brain, every fact or truth is never eternal or static (the sun will shine tomorrow: is valid only until a certain extend – 9.5 billion years, for most of us around 72.6 years) so logic is valid only until a certain extent, a certain period of time, a certain scale – quantum or human or special, the theory of everything philosophically is a lost cause. Validity applies within a spectrum, outside it is the syntonic comma, the Indian Shruti, what was detailed in the Chienese Huainanzi. Our nature of reality as Plato indicated is never to be perfect or logic, the world of the idea(l)s is a fabrication.

Aesthetically plasticized as the origin, the first narrative, the ultimate battle, from start of civilization until the end – order vs chaos. The ancient Greeks lived in a culture of denial and suppression – the core and boundary of it was logical, to speak of the illogical was heresy, to be drowned, for a ancient Greek chaos did not exist, it is a damn modern invention.

The shell began to crack, to interface and conform with reality would mean to acknowledge chaos (more than in a drunk Greek Mystery, or in modern conformity to routine) as part of nature of reality. Slowly it happened and slowly it goes. The west was born in Greece, therefore continuously in contemporary reality it is still in a denial of the true nature of reality, it is a cultural tendency to think causality is a property of the world : that it exists outside of human perception, that order is an inherent property of the world.

The struggle against our own western mistakes is being incarnated in the forms of the human trace in every non-human fact. Anthropomorphism. Falsified every time. It was Karl Popper who suggested that what we know about the world is mostly mapping what we cant know about it. We can only make up destinations, and only try to get there.

We found a lonely island, there we found tracks, we followed the tracks only to find out they were our own

We have the power to create order, not only to find it. It is hard to tell what is better. The difference between the two mind-sets are huge. The whole package of knowledge of ourselves and of the universe was the destination which the west set it course upon – our Odyssey. Instead of a destination there was only a tool to be found, the ability to make sense, but the make sense of what then ?

And this is the question that the west is facing at this moment. The motive of space – the vast cold emptiness which has surfaced as one of the leading motives of modern cinema or an object of empirical investigation of science, the new frontier, they all might be just blind exercises in futility.
