Practical Philosophy E01 – Intro

This series is part of a concept in which I would try to give a clue about what it is to live a life with philosophical insights. Is it something worth doing ?

The main idea behind philosophy, as I see it, is trying to understand. The love of knowledge. Why should we love knowledge ? There are many possible answers to that question. When reading Plato’s Symposium we get the answer that the love of knowledge is the highest form of love, it brings man closer to his ideals, to perfection, to eternity. We will explore possible answers.

In the contemporary context the answer to the question ‘why should we love knowledge ?’ becomes much more complicated. Even keeping coherent becomes a challenge, a challenge I would try to overcome together with the reader. This series would touch a lot of subjects : art, language, psychology. I would share simple answers for complicated questions I had for years, hoping that someone would find it useful.

Disclaimer : The themes that I choose to bring forward are in my opinion the most interesting ones. This is a matter of taste, and is based upon my life experience and my approach. I have no ambition to offer something that could be interesting or valid for just anyone, or even take responsibility for the ideas, they are just reflections, so be aware !
